Sen. Ted Cruz, Donald Trump's former chief rival for the GOP nomination, will speak at the Republican National Convention later this month, the Texas senator told reporters after the two met Thursday in Washington.
Cruz told reporters Thursday that the real estate mogul offered his former primary rival a speaking slot during the meeting and Cruz accepted. He added that he and Trump did not discuss an endorsement.

We know who he is now. He is a frustrated actor.
“Ted” (not his real name) Cruz will be a vote suppressor. The handful of cultists he brings will be more than offset by the many normal people repulsed by this foreign, cobbled together golem.
It doesn’t matter how Cruz votes or doesn’t vote. He is not eligible, period.
He is also lacking in integrity and honor but that’s beside the point.
Don’t worry democrats, they only talked about their
grandchildren...
I invited everyone
I applied the same rules to everyone
Folks can believe what they want.
I’ve got a clean conscience.
I spent 100 days devising, implementing, and running that caucus. I spent hundreds of hours on it and drove over 100 miles on numerous occasions during that 100 days to get the caucus process on time.
Then some dilweed comes along and spends 30 seconds trying to nullify all my hard work on it.
Hack, spit...
Perhaps you need to read the things that Donald has advocated.
Hopefully he has moved on from where he was.
And now Trump is bringing in the Cruz staffers You take talent where yo can find it I don’t care if it’s Cruz or not but Trump needs a conservative on the ticket or a great deal of the base will stay home
It doesnt matter how Cruz votes or doesnt vote. He is not eligible, period.
++++
IT DOESN’T MATTER HOW HE VOTES.
That is a really interesting comment. I always thought it was very important how Senators vote. In fact I have noticed that Democrats don’t generally vote the way I would but Republicans do. I guess that’s why I always vote for Republicans.
But your opinion is noted. For what it’s worth.
Cruz will do the minimum required which is a “we have to beat Hillary” half endorsement of Trump. The MSM will spin it as a nonendorsement of Trump. And Cruz will be fine with that.
Excuse me, I must have misunderstood you. I thought you were suggesting because of the way he votes he should be considered as VP material.
In that context, it doesn’t matter if he walks on water, he is not eligible.
That’s not my opinion, for what it’s worth, that’s a fact.
And We need conservatives in the US Senate who will not campaign for Barack Obama’s secret trade agenda. Sadly, after seeing Cruz dishonestly campaign for Obama’s TPA we know Ted Cruz is not one of them.
Actually, the GOPe paid for that microphone.
Half? I think it's a (now) silent majority.
Did I say that?
Go ahead and get hung up on a minor detail of the analogy and miss the point if you like though, I don’t care.
I’m not arguing the merits of Cruz vs someone else There is no perfect candidate My point stands Trump needs a conservative on the ticket or he risks a lot of conservatives staying home on election day
I assume you know that Trumps mother was not born in the U.S. Born in Scotland.
Okay, obviously the Cruz #neverTrump supporters are coming out of the woodwork.
I’m out of this conversation, I can’t deal with ridiculous statements today.
Sometimes I wonder if DJT is so naive he doesn’t fully grasp the profound and relentless evil which has formed against him.
Remember the story he relates where after the negotiation, the opposite negotiator remarked to him that they just couldn’t figure him out, or what his next move would be?
I keep thinking about that story, and hoping he is fully cognizant of the Globalist determination, at any cost, to keep him (and us) from regaining control of our country.
Re: Cruz: I hope he has someone monitoring his every word, and at the first deviance, presses the button to cut off his microphone! Given his 100% “Bash Trump at every opportunity” record, this move seems just too risky and not all that necessary.
I guess we’ll find out soon enough. Thanks for your thoughts, Psalm 144.
Me, too on the “far less uncomfortable than Ted . . .”
I understand, Duchess. IMO, they are operatives that come out of the woodwork to spread FUD. So many former Cruz supporters have had their eyes opened, along the way. Evangelicals came out in droves to give DJT wins in South Carolina and other states.
IMO, it is ridiculous to consider for even a moment that DJT would bring him on the ticket. He’s naturally repellent to way too many people, and his record does not match DJT’s.
We can guess “until the cows come home”, though, but I’d sort of like to not guess, and just be surprised. That’s what Mr. Trump said he wanted to do, surprise us, and I think it would be gracious of us to allow him to do just that.
Thank you :) I was thinking maybe I was getting touchy in the heat here in Nevada.
I am more than willing to be surprised and I am confident it will be a pleasant surprise. Mr. Trump has surprised me several times but they have always been good.
