Actually, it is better that it is Comey up there not Lynch. Comey is a straight white male. He can be devoured. Lynch is a black woman. Anything done to question her would be considered racism. It’d all be covered in the media as racism by white Republicans...and by extension racist, bigoted Trump.

For the purposes of the law being cited, it doesn't make a difference whether they are a current or ex-employee.
Clinton may be an ex-employee, but what about the rest of her staff? Have their clearances been at least suspended, pending investigation?
There's some question whether Clinton's clearance was ever terminated after she left office. That should be asked to the Office of Personnel Security and Suitability at the Dept. of State (who administrates their security clearances), and if not -- why not?
