Word on the street is that former Georgia congressman and House Speaker Newt Gingrich will be joining presumptive Republican nominee Donald Trump at an Ohio rally tomorrow, making an appearance that could very well serve as an audition to be the billionaires running mate.
Several reporters tweeted the news on Tuesday afternoon that Gingrich will be a special guest at Trumps Cincinnati rally on Wednesday evening.
Weve known for a while that Gingrich is a top contender for Trumps VP, but the two have not appeared together since that news broke. Tim Alberta over at the conservative National Review reports that the appearance is a trial balloon to gauge how well people receive the pair...

enough baggage to fill 20 757s .
It’s going to be someone not on the list.
Gingrich is a very sharp cookie and a political veteran who knows the way things are done. He’d be a good choice, IMO.
Newt is a free trade godfather who held hands with Clinton for NAFTA. This makes no sense.
“Well, he is winning the Drudge poll and the Breitbart poll..”

Are you missing a sarc tag? The people who read Drudge and Breitbart are already won. Trump needs a (nonconservative) running mate who can win the LoFos. Pretty (damned smart) woman. If he chooses an ideological purist, Trump will have to work twice as hard as if he chose Joni Ernst.
My take on the Christie vetting is that Trump is doing it as a courtesy to Christie for endorsing him and for his loyalty. It also allows Trump to keep people guessing. I’m sure Christie will have a place in a Trump administration. But, not as VP.

See what LameCherry thinks about it all.
[BTW Newt is bad news]
Just look at the polls. Trump needs help winning over republicans. He already beats Hillary by double digits among independents.
But among republicans he is at 80% when he should be closer to 90%. That’s his job between now and election day. He needs to convince those 10% of republicans that he would be a better president than Hillary. If he can can do that, he wins. Hillary is already at 90% among democrats and has no room to grow.
Newt is well liked and respected among republicans. He’ll get those 10% on board.
Newt? Tough?
Nothing wrong with your logic. But I’m not as confident in your conclusion. We’ve probably batted this around enough. DJT will be making a choice on his own, and very likely both of us will be surprised. I’m hoping he’ll set the MSM back on their heels. Again.
>>but do we really want Bernie supporters?<<
**Why do their votes not count?**
Well of coarse their vote counts. My concern is Trump tailoring his message to a socialist crowd.
Your concern is noted.
>>Your concern is noted.<<
Noted? Are you not going to act on it Donald? lol
Take care.
