Just heard about an explosion at NYC Central Park don't see anything on Fox though.
All of CP—or just the section of it reported in this story?

The pipe bomb he had concealed slipped, errant powder in the threads on the end cap acted as ignition/primer. Wanna bet said young man’s religion? He is not the victim.
I spend a lot of time in Central Park during the workweek but normally not there on weekends. I find it a very safe place and a sanctuary from the bustling city. Sometimes I take an extended lunch hour and walk down the middle of it back to my midtown office all the way from 110th street. I take the subway up to the top and walk all the way down. Normally a very tranquil area mostly full of friendly tourists and locals. Will monitor this situation closely.

Last night was the last dry one forecast for next 3 days here in Indiana. The fireworks sounded like WW3 about 10 pm. I think everybody was using up their cache before the deluge.

Update 12:07 p.m. Although all indications point to this being a fireworks incident, the NYPD bomb squad is responding as a precaution. CBS reports that Central Park has now been closed and is being evacuated after the incident. The NYPD’s Assistant Commissioner for Public Information & Communication tweeted that no evacuation was taking place however

Closing Central Park would be pretty difficult to do. It's 2.5 miles long and about a half mile wide with over a hundred entrances. Most likely they contained a small area.
That’s an IED injury.
I've seen fireworks that can blow off your fingers, but this blew off the guy's foot. This was a lot more powerful than any firework. Probably a small IED.
