Gov. Jerry Brown signs bulk of sweeping gun-control package into law, vetoes five bills

Gov. Jerry Brown on Friday signed six gun-control bills into law, including a requirement that ammunition purchasers undergo background checks. The governor vetoed five other measures.

“My goal in signing these bills is to enhance public safety by tightening our existing laws in a responsible and focused manner, while protecting the rights of law-abiding gun owners,” Brown wrote in a message.

Brown approved bills that would ban the sale of semiautomatic rifles equipped with bullet buttons allowing the ammunition magazines to be easily detached and replaced.

The National Rifle Assn. Institute for Legislative Action accused the governor of exploiting the terrorist attacks for political gain.

“Gov. Jerry Brown today signed a Draconian gun control package that turns California’s law-abiding gun owners into second-class citizens,” said Amy Hunter, California spokesperson for the group. “ The governor and legislature exploited a terrorist attack to push these measures through even though the state’s already restrictive laws did nothing to stop the attack in San Bernadino.”

Bills the governor signed will:

— Require an ID and background check to purchase ammunition and create a new state database of ammunition owners

— Ban possession of ammunition magazines that hold more than 10 bullets.

— Restrict the loaning of guns without background checks to close family members.

Brown acted on the gun bills just before he left for a European vacation expected to last a few weeks.

When the shtf in cali and libtard family members beg for weapons for protection, everyone can be Charleton Heston and say, go down to the gun store and get checked and wait out the waiting period, its against he law for me to lend you one of my weapons. The laws you voted for and were happy they passed.

build the fence
Not on the Mexico border.
on the California border.

Californians ruined Nevada and Colorado.

It needs to stop.

Along with Brown’s fried brains, so are his balls, guts, and sanity.

California is now the first Marxist gun-control state in the country and most of its major cities are controlled by a combination of communists/Marxists/socialist/progressives (I’m being repetitive aren’t I?), black extremists, generally insane Democrats, and “whitey hating Hispanic irredentist extremists”.

Correct me if I’m wrong. Double-dare you!

If 10-20% more of the people registered as republicans in this state would get off their ass and vote this would be a red state.

You KNOW they will work border crossings and have oath breaker LEOs camming at out of state stores.

An acquaintance of mine, engineer working on a project in this state, got lightened $15,000 and barely avoided a felony after getting pulled over for 73 in a 70 zone and then [dumbass moment] opening his console to the officers query of “do you have any weapons in the vehicle?” to show him his CCW’d (his state) loaded pistol.

“I’ve been told that Brown’s brains are fried and have been since the 60’s.”

They didn’t call him “Governor Moonbeam” for nothing.

It’s like in sport. You may not be the best team, but you make the other team beat you. We don’t.

We give them a walk-over every dang time.

It’s like this. We may have the best automobile in the world, but if we don’t tell anyone about it, advertise, engage people and talk about it, we wont sell a single one.

The people of California don’t hear Conservative views, solutions for issues. Us old timers remember folks like Reagan who sold Conservatism in the state.

It has been since 1984, that Conservatism was sold in the state in broad loud terms from a national bully pulpit from within the state.

Trump has been and will be doing it this year.

His nomination was so vitally important, for little more important than this very fact.

Trump will be selling Conservatism loudly in many states who will not have heard these principles since 1984.

That’s 32 years ago.

Think about it. Someone who was 15 in those days, is now 47 years old, and they will hear Conservative values for the first time this year.

We’re going to sell a lot of cars...

For every problem, a solution. I'd find buddies who live near the border, have them buy the ammo, and then you just pick it up on a visit, having to go nowhere near those, more than likely, staked-out stores.

It was California’s stupid laws that created the 80% lower market. There are unintended consequences afoot. This legal ejaculate will result in tens of thousands of newly uncastrated ARs in the state and for every one registered another one or two with the same bonafides will be stashed away. Since the guns won’t be transferable, fence sitting relatives will want to buy their own sport utility rifle while they can. Others will learn the joys of high powered bolt action rifle shooting at stand off distances. And still others will finally take up reloading. Gun stores in neighboring states will prosper. Pump action, straight pull, or eject and lock non-semi auto actions will enter the market. Other styles of featureless furniture will come onto the market. Maybe great for the PCP air gun market. Someone like Joe Kennedy is going to get rich off this camel toe under the tent prohibition non sense. I smell opportunity for the bold and the creative.

It’s very simple. Conceal shipments of contraband in vans and hire illegals/Mexicans to drive them. The PC fascist authorities in California won’t want to risk the trouble for “violating the rights” of “undocumented Americans.” The police would rather violate the rights of “documented Americans” as that is the path that leads to rapid to career advancement.

The Black Market always thrives under totalitarian regimes.
