Martha Stewart was tried and convicted of lying to a federal investigator.
She was sent to jail to make an example.

Lying to the FBI. Evidently this is a “thing” with Comey - he really goes after those that lie during their interviews - probably why Hilly hasn’t had hers yet.

Can someone try to explain to me again why Martha Stewart went to jail?Yes. Various congresscritters were being investigated for insider trading. To divert attention, they had the DOJ go after Stewart. In the meantime, they voted in a bill that makes it legal for THEM to do insider trading.
