After a series of messages over several weeks encouraging the listeners to respond to the fire of God, Pastor Bates waded into the controversy over homosexuality, highlighting its sin as compared to Scripture:
I was literally shocked, personally, when I began to see people get up, move out, walk out the door kinda shaking their heads.
Bates says that the people who were most likely to walk out on a message on the Biblical stance of homosexuality are those people with relationship connections with those in the LGBT community. Be it a son, daughter or parent, many going to traditional churches that seek to maintain Biblical standards are being actively challenged by the LGBT agenda in our nation.

Love the sinner, hate the sin. Walking out may show love for the sinner, but does not show hate for the sin.
It seems they can’t endure sound doctrine.
John 6:60
As long as it is the RIGHT ground and definitely not a self-glorifying ground. He might not know the love of God from a turtle in the zoo.
Staged, most likely.
I wonder how many of those had attended the church before their pathetic hysterics.
Don’t assume this is a straight-from-Jesus message.
With all due respect, they are the ones who need it most!
Well maybe they should go to freakin Dave & Busters or something instead!
They may not want to hear the word of God preached, but those people most definitely need to be in that Church.
In the words of Jesus:
“It is not the healthy who need a doctor, but the sick. I have not come to call the righteous, but sinners to repentance.”
If anyone needs to go to a Church and hear the word of God, it is those who are in the worst states of sin.
Even if it IS a straight-from-Jesus message ... many folks will walk away from it, as they did then.
People walking away, shaking their heads, is an indictment of neither the message nor the messenger.
preach it pastor.
I highly doubt it’s how it was presented and just a matter of many of today’s believers have not made Jesus LORD in all areas of their life and heart. Jesus said those who have ears will hear Him. A pastor’s tone or wording will not be important if the Truth of God is being spoken and people are there to hear Truth.
Just as many couples with christian belief choose to live together without marriage, also against the word of God.
bible tells us walk the narrow road not the wide (world based one). Not so easy when we have entertained thoughts against the word of God repeatedly and they start to seem better than the word of God.
Which is why an overly harsh approach is self defeating. Anyone can thump their chest and say “don’t do it” if they’ve never been there and wrangled with the devil about it, seized hold of Christ’s power and won, and can describe what happened.
How about making sure that is the case before slamming down a judgment?
Perhaps you might follow your own advice.
Church is supposed to be a hospital for sinners, not a museum for saints. I'm assuming you mean those who choose not to follow the Word of God, not those who have sinned and are seeking the Word of God.
They believe that men obtaining sexual pleasure from other men by shoving their pee-pees up the other’s poo-poo is just clean Christian fun.
They also believe that a woman can pleasure another woman in a similar fashion.
This, to their warped minds, is not a sin that they’ll have to answer for.
They have rejected God and their appearance in churches is just for show.
Think how many would walk out if the pastor endorsed the LGBT agenda. Many have.
Nope, it almost certainly IS how it is presented, and part of it implicates hypocrisy. If you don’t show what the purity looks like, just because you might not have vice A but do have vice B, does not mean you can teach virtue C when both vices compromise them.
You first; teach it to me please by showing me.
And I am speaking of a very common pattern. If the shoe does not fit, by all means do not wear it; but if it fits you know what to do.
‘Twas your advice ... Perhaps you could demonstrate it.
