I would be remiss if I didn’t mention that Crabb voted against homo marriage, maybe he’s not as bad as I think. But his speech just screamed liberal.
I know, it was a tongue-in-cheek comment.
So, they had the first vote of MPs. Fox came in last and was eliminated, Crabb was second to last, he withdrew. Both of them endorsed May, who was way out in front.
Ledsom was second and seems likely to be second on final ballot and thus face May in the postal vote. Gove allegedly is trying to get May supporters to give him some of their spare votes, so she faces him instead.
My money (so to speak) is still on Gove. But that’s my personal sentiment that I think he can do well in at least negotiating a good deal for the UK to exit.
However, popular sentiments are with Theresa May for PM, so far. I think Andrea Leadsom has a good chance too. Then again, as they say, even 24 hours is a long time in politics!
after 3 years it is illuminating to read what the folks said
“In a speech in London - billed as his campaign launch - Mr Johnson said he did not believe he could provide the leadership or unity needed...
Addressing reporters in a new conference just moments before the deadline for nominations passed, Mr Johnson said the next Conservative leader would have to unify his party and ensure that Britain stood tall in the world.
“Having consulted colleagues and in view of the circumstances in Parliament, I have concluded that person cannot be me,” he said.”
As babble-on pointed out “Boris is more of a show-pony, not so much a workhorse.”
pepsionice was bang-on in his prediction about “Id wait this out and look at the job in a couple of years when the mess has cleared.”
And mostly Vanders9 was sooo correct with his “.its going to be an interesting few months.”
