One of the guns used in the November 13, 2015 Paris terrorist attacks came from Phoenix, Arizona where the Obama administration allowed criminals to buy thousands of weapons illegally in a deadly and futile gun-walking operation known as Fast and Furious.
A Report of Investigation (ROI) filed by a case agent in the Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco Firearms and Explosives (ATF) tracked the gun used in the Paris attacks to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, off book, Judicial Watchs law enforcement sources confirm. Federal agents tracing the firearm also found the Phoenix gun owner to be in possession of an unregistered fully automatic weapon, according to law enforcement officials with firsthand knowledge of the investigation.
The investigative follow up of the Paris weapon consisted of tracking a paper trail using a 4473 form, which documents a guns ownership history by, among other things, using serial numbers. The Phoenix gun owner that the weapon was traced back to was found to have at least two federal firearms violationsfor selling one weapon illegally and possessing an unregistered automaticbut no enforcement or prosecutorial action was taken against the individual. Instead, ATF leaders went out of their way to keep the information under the radar and ensure that the gun owners identity was kept quiet, according to law enforcement sources involved with the case. Agents were told, in the process of taking the fully auto, not to anger the seller to prevent him from going public, a veteran law enforcement official told Judicial Watch.
Its not clear if the agency, which is responsible for cracking down on the illegal use and trafficking of firearms, did this because the individual was involved in the Fast and Furious gun-running scheme. An ATF spokesman, Corey Ray, at the agencys Washington D.C. headquarters told Judicial Watch that no firearms used in the Paris attacks have been traced by the agency. When asked about the ROI report linking the weapon used in Paris to Phoenix, Ray said Im not familiar with the report youre referencing. Judicial Watch also tried contacting the Phoenix ATF office, but multiple calls were not returned.
The ATF ran the Fast and Furious experiment and actually allowed criminals, straw purchasers, working for Mexican drug cartels to buy weapons at federally licensed firearms dealers in Phoenix and allowed the guns to be walkedpossessed without any knowledge of their whereabouts. The government lost track of most of the weapons and many have been used to murder hundreds of innocent people as well as a U.S. Border Patrol agent, Brian Terry, in Arizona. A mainstream newspaper reported that a Muslim terrorist who planned to murder attendees of a Muhammad cartoon contest in Garland, Texas last year bought a 9-millimeter pistol at a Phoenix gun shop that participated in the ATFs Fast and Furious program despite drug and assault charges that should have raised red flags. Judicial Watch has thoroughly investigated Fast and Furious and has sued the Obama administration for information about the once-secret operation.
If I could see detailed pics of the Zastava AKM used in the Paris attacks, I can determine whether it was constructed as a semi-auto gun converted to select fire or whether it originally came from the factory in Serbia as a select fire rifle.
So far, I’ve not seen a clear pic of any guns reputably used in the Paris terror attack.
This statement makes me doubt this article is true.
“to a Phoenix gun owner who sold it illegally, off book,
Now, what is an “off book” sale by a gun owner (not dealer)?
Unless AZ has a law that requires all guns to be sold through licensed dealers, there is nothing that requires a gun owner to record the transaction in a book. Individual to individual is perfectly legal.
This one does not pass the smell test to me.
Eric Holder should do 40 years in a Federal pen for being an accessory to a mass-casualty terrorist act
lordy, lordy, lordy ...
Who used to say that.
F&F you say.
Gee...I wonder how many MANPADS and 50cals etc from Benghazi, wound up with ISIS?
From what I remember all the sales in fast and Furious were legal even tho the gun store owners were calling the ATF telling them that they felt straw purchases were being repeatedly made by the same individuals even after multiple calls reporting them.
Of course we cant let that stop us from kicking in your door and rousting you a little while we check your paperwork.
...and a Mexico Cartel / Islamic connection.
At what point will the general public conclude that “terrorism” is primarily a production of the US government, as a means to seize additional powers that would not be acquiesced to by the public?
Conspiracy theory is rapidly morphing into conspiracy fact.
Well Well Well, looks like gun control is needed after all..but from the White House..they supply more guns to Jihadists than anyone else..but the media wont report it, they are too busy licking both Obama and Clinton’s a@@
We’ve come full circle in a grand trajectory of corruption and treason.
All the dots have been connected.
It’s the face of Obama.
And the mainstream media will pretend it doesn’t even exist.
Thank you sir. Despite JW’s merits elsewhere, this article feels like slight of hand. It invokes Fast And furious, then gives nada to tie this particular gun sale to F and F, other than Phoenix. It omits to identify the buyer and seller; yet the chain of custody from manufacturer to jihadi is (or should be) the raison d’etre of the story. Surely the seller’s name isn’t “Phoenix gun owner”. Makes me wonder what is being covered up, by whom, and why.
If its the Clintons or ANY other Democrat the media will always cover for them because the media is comprised of 90 percent + liberal, of course they wont report on anything bad involving any Democrat..and the media knows that for the most part, most are sheep, they say they dont trust the media but they do, the media says Donald Trump is the devil and they go along with it, they say that Hillary Clinton is the greatest thing since sliced bread and they believe it
Thanks. It simply did not pass the smell test for me.
At times the phrases used reveal things unsaid. That “off book” comment would be more appropriate for a gun dealer. Some trade in guns and have no “book”. That is legal if it is not a business. Not sure how that is determined.
And my assessment of this is in spite of the good opinion I have of JW.
The gun shop owner just never recorded the sale or to who.
Right now, the MSM doesn’t seem to be touching this story and ATF has been very evasive, with one agent mentioning that they “don’t want to piss off the person who sold the gun” (who has a prior arms-related violation). Now why on earth would the ATF care about pissing off someone who illegally sold an automatic weapon...? /s
However, I wonder if/when the French media becomes aware of this story, will they be so protective of the Community Organizer in-Chief and his former AG...
Do you know for a fact, or is that your bet.
