An 18-year-old man was arrested early Sunday on suspicion of driving while high on marijuana after he crashed into a marijuana dispensary in Happy Valley.
Alan Alcantara hit an empty parked car near Stumptown Cannabis on Southeast 82nd Avenue around 1:05 a.m. and then crashed into the back wall of the business, according to a probable cause affidavit. He caused more than $1,000 in damages to the other car and the building, court papers said.
Alcantara's passenger was taken to a hospital with a concussion, and Alcantara admitted to a Clackamas County sheriff's deputy to using marijuana before the crash, the affidavit said. He was booked into the Clackamas County Jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of intoxicants, reckless driving, reckless endangering, criminal mischief and fourth-degree assault.
A worker at Stumptown Cannabis said Tuesday that the business was closed at the time of the crash and that boards have been put up on the wall that was hit.
Only $1000? He must have been driving less than 5 mph.
Dave’s not here.
“...a marijuana dispensary in Happy Valley.”
Makes perfect sense!
Dude, what just happened ??
What? You mean there’s no drive-thru?
but it like, helps me focus, man
I just hate when that happens...
everyone knows that weed smokers are harmless, there are no effects and no health issues and certainly no crime issues...infact all of us should be using it morning til dusk, even our kids, because its so wonderful, maybe we should require it...
Reality can be funny at times!
What are the odds?
It’ll all settle down after the central socialist government edicts pot for all Americans.
When some old woman hits the gas instead of the brake and
drives into a 7-11 do they blame it on the donuts
she was jonesing for? ;-)
Oh, no. Don’t tell me you’re a pothead, Ken.
The problem is in the case of Colorado, for example, that these pot smoking nutcases drive into other surrounding states. As a matter of fact the New Mexico state police routinely target cars entering NM with Colorado plates. There has to be a reason for stopping them, of course, and that reason is erratic driving.
It’s up to the states and a majority of their residents and I believe that in time as the crime rate accelerates that they will finally have a stomach full of potheads.
Oh, no. Dont tell me youre a pothead, Ken.

Oh, no. Don’t tell me you’re a nanny stater, Homer.
I have not had a drink or drug for over 22 years, and I am active in AA.
Recently our shopping center where our AA meeting hall is located, also rents to a marijuana dispensary.
People going to AA are loiterers. Hang around outside, smoking and joking. A real eyesore, for the center in general. They wouldn’t walk five feet to put a cigarette into an ash container. Rather throw the butt on the ground.
By contrast, the dispensary customers drive into the center in nice cars, walk inside, and walk straight out and leave.
Just sayin.
If I lived in a state close to Colorado I’d be worried that their potheaded residents would drive into my state in a marijuana induced state and kill someone.
There will be enough incidents in Colorado that the people will cry for rescinding the ‘law’.
I don’t believe that qualifies this VRWC card-carrying member and a veteran and a life member of the NRA as a nanny stater.
What are your credentials for tagging me with that nanny stater bullcrap? Other than being a user, I mean.
