MONESSEN, Pa. (AP) -- Donald Trump called for a new era of economic "Americanism" Tuesday, promising to restore millions of lost factory jobs by backing away from decades of U.S. policy that encouraged trade with other nations - a move that could undermine the country's place as the dominant player in the global economy.
The speech marked a significant break from years of Republican Party advocacy for unencumbered trade between nations, and drew immediate condemnation from GOP business leaders.

Utah, huh? You’re not one them coffee drink’n uppity women, are you? :-)))
Buchanan is a big anti-semite.
Perot chose a running make who although was once a big hero, should have been in the the old folks home (Stockdale).
Perot also went “nuts” about helicopters that bush sent to ruin his daughter’s wedding.
All these things took a toll, and is why they lost.
Trump is not saying “no trade.”
However, I would not mind seeing reciprocal trade agreements in which both sides trade with the same effective tariffs. If none, then none. If 51% ownership by the government (China), then we do the same.
Stick it to them the same way they stick it to us.
Nice cover art, thanks. FYI, on his national radio show tonight, Mark Levin specifically mentioned and spoke out AGAINST the theories of Pat Buchanan, as part of Levin’s current and constant surrender to the alter of “free trade.” Based on the way things are heading, it’s starting to look like the free traitors may be the new Democratic party going forward.
Yup. Exactly.
I was in China working before almost any other American. Every early. I have been horrified to see the trade displacement which has now gone on, and gotten worse, under every administration since then.
Both parties are completely sold out. I completely agree with you. RECIPROCAL TRADE agreements.
Everyone in both parties, is selling out America currently. It is horrifying to watch.
I have read “Death of the West”...Great book...Very telling...
Watch this. see Trump!!http://www.npr.org/sections/thetwo-way/2016/06/28/483857209/watch-brexiteer-nigel-farage-to-eu-youre-not-laughing-now-are-you
If TPP and TTiP are any indication all these “trade” agreements are nothing more than a surrender of our national sovereignty
Not free trade rather unfair trade where deals made were either one sided or not kept by the other signatories
Perot did pretty good for a third party guy
Vote Trump.
There’s no rational alternative.
Buchanan an Anti-Semite?
What you been smoking there boy?
Dominant player until we aren’t dominant at anything any longer. Then the elites will have moved all their investments to the next area of economic dominance. No one gives a crap about America, except for us ‘stupid American workers’. I’ve noticed Trump cares about America for over 30 years. That is why he’s despised by the elites and media.
Perot could have won if he had not dropped out with some lame excuse and then tried to get back in with an even lamer reason. Dropping out and then getting back in made him look like an unserious fool. He he had just stayed the course from the get go, he had a real shot at winning.
re: Post 23
That must be some good chit you’re huffing down. You are starting to repeat your canard.
“Perot did pretty good for a third party guy”
If he was trying to throw the election to Clinocchio, then yeah, he did right well.
How different history would have been ...
No Clinton, No W, no new world order, ect.
In terms of votes...,I did not vote for him nor did I like that he ran. He was right about NAFTA that swill brought to us by HW and signed by Bill
I’m all for protecting American workers.
Business leaders have forgotten who makes our country work.
Trump put them in their place.
