Fort Bend County Sheriff Troy Nehls said a family argument led to the shooting Friday evening at a home outside the Houston suburb of Fulshear. Christy Sheats, 42, convened the meeting in the living room of the home that was attended by her husband Jason Sheats, and her daughters, Taylor Sheats, 22, and Madison Sheats, 17, according to the sheriff's office.
"During that meeting, Christy Sheats held up a gun and shot both girls," the sheriff's office said.
Jason Sheats and the daughters ran outside where Madison Sheats collapsed and died. Jason Sheats ran to the end of the cul-de-sac.
Christy Sheats shot Taylor Sheats one more time on the street. A witness told investigators Christy Sheats then went back into the home, reloaded her gun and shot Taylor once more.
When officers arrived, they saw Christy Sheats shooting one of her daughters in the street, the sheriff's office said.
An officer fatally shot Christy Sheats after she refused to obey commands to drop her handgun. Taylor Sheats was taken to a Houston hospital, where she died.

It means that the “economic” conservatives are mistaken in telling the “social” conservatives to sit down and shut up.
No amount of supply side economics will fix moral bankruptcy.
“Do you? How uncomfortable would that be.”
Not on my person. That’d be stupid. Don’t be stupid or paranoid of guns.
You sound like a liberal that thinks the mere presence of guns results in wild accidents.
Try researching crime and firearm accident rates instead of just making wild-assed assumptions based on your fear and ignorance.
The fact is more people protect themselves using guns than are harmed by guns accidentally by a large margin.
Suicide is rarely by firearm. Suicides are by overdose and strangulation. I know, the wife runs mental hospitals and I wrote the behavioral health programs for the State of Colorado.
More children die from drowning in 5 gallon buckets than die from firearms every year. Do you question the presence of 5 gallon buckets in homes?
More children die each year from falls, such as falling down stairs than die from firearms each year. Do you question the presence of stairs?
Thousands of children die from car accidents each year. Do you question the use of cars with children?
“I think if we established prescription drugs as one of the key factors in these episodes, we’d press for laws to eliminate these drugs from sales.”
Oho! You mean Big Pharma might get blamed for mass murders, like the NRA does now?
Don’t most users successfully manage their illnesses with these same types of prescription drugs, without going homicidal, just like the majority of gun owners?
I’m not totally against what you’re saying. Perhaps it would be a useful debate, which, so far, Big Pharma has managed to prevent.
My admittedly unscientific and entirely anecdotally-based opinion is that it’s probably not the USE of the drug which causes the meltdown.
More likely, it’s the sudden, unmonitored WITHDRAWAL.
I simply asked a question.
Thanks for answering that question.
"...Already happened on a previous thread.
The suggestion from some of those who make up details for themselves when they are not yet known was that he was complicit..."
I worked with a guy who had a 17-year old daughter with various issues. The doc put her on a new medication one day. The next day....the family was on some outing near a Virginia interstate, where the daughter had some meltdown, and the cops felt that the father had triggered some event to occur and actually held him for six hours until the wife bailed him out. The medication? Oh, they went back to the original stuff.
I was wondering about that. Looks like she was trying to keep up that very youth-specific Kardashian look, and not succeeding. Add to that marital woes and the onset of menopause, while in front of you youth, beauty and sex appeal parade shamelessly....
I don't know whether I will age gracefully myself (I'm 43 and watching myself go from gorgeous to "meh", and I can tell you it's not easy, especially if you're a bit on the, um, colorful side as I am), but I can't imagine being anything but proud and protective of my beautiful little daughter as she grows up!
I read a comment by a woman for whom the youngest babysat.
Said the Mom Sheats was bipolar, and off her med’s. I think it was in the Houston Chronicle.
Great points. Many have a knee jerk reaction to firearms and need perspective. The media and libs try their best to brainwash that knee jerk reaction into everyone so they can get firearms away from everybody.
People need to do their own research, the media and political sound bites are the worst way to find out about anything.
Family mental illness: 95% of families are dysfunctional.
LOL!
Sunday I posted an article which stated the mother had a history of mental illness and that many of LEO visits to the house were due to her mental crises. I only wanted to point out that perhaps this was a case of someone who may have stopped her meds and as a result her symptoms returned.
I have no way of knowing, of course. Just raising it as a possibility.
Not cutting her slack or making excuses for her-she got what she deserved.
nah I made a mistake.....to quick on the trigger......didn’t pay attention to the fact you were responding to a previous post
Now I'm not a doctor, but....
Dad led the way running out the door ahead of his daughters it sounds? No heroic actions from him.
More details in this article:
1)The husband and wife had recently reconciled after a separation.
2)She shot and killed her daughters on the husband’s birthday.
Heh.
No, this is exactly what the gungrabbers want, ALL transfers recorded. And they do want you to report gifts, inheritances, and such. When they use the words “gunshow loophole”, they aren’t really referring to gunshows, but private gun transfers.
Can’t have confiscations until they have registration of all guns.
