Congressional Democrats increasingly frustrated by a string of defeats on gun issues in Washington are scrambling to harness a public outpouring after last week’s sit-in protest on the House floor.
Party leaders are urging members to conduct similar sit-ins around the country as they try to sustain the flash of hard-core activism on the gun issue.
“We don’t have the numbers to get things done, so we have to turn to more dramatic displays to galvanize the public so they can help us pressure the Republicans to do what’s right,” said U.S. Rep. Keith Ellison, D-Minn.

Gun control is one of those ideas in which all the facts are on one side so the other uses emotionalism and lies. The two go together very well while facts are sort of boring.

When they're in the majority, they are all about how important it is to do what the sacred majority wants.
When they're in the minority, they're all about the need to do "what's right," even if they're idea of "what's right" is rejected by the majority.
I would be utterly ashamed to know I had voted for any one of these imbeciles...That bunch in the picture puts the emphasis on the word “UGLY”....

That tactic worked when they were 40 years younger, had the entire media on their side, and were supposedly fighting to restore rights to a minority segment of the population that had been deprived of those rights.
Now they are 40 years older. They have been in the corridors of power for 20 of those years.
They no longer have the entire media on their side.
They are working to take away Constitutional rights from everyone.
The same tactics will not work. They look like idiots, and they are acting like spoiled children.

I listened to Glenn Beck describe the dirty tricks Lincoln used to get elected, and how no one thought he would do what he did.
Consider the utter disaster of the Lincoln presidency. A statesman would have worked to find a peaceful solution. The South knew that slavery was not sustainable. A way could have been found.
The Silly Thing was, Beck thought Lincoln was so beyong reproach, that everything was justified by what he did in the war!
I think that the word “asses” is probably OK, as it is
simply the name of an animal. A$$holes is sort of iffy as

mind, that is OK.
Sometimes I just have to marvel at how much easier it would be for me if I were a democrat instead of a God fearing Christian conservative. Then I could just stay ignorant about logical facts and believe in a fantasy world that doesn’t exist.
