An Oregon mother shot and killed a home intruder she found in her child's bedroom early Sunday, reports CBS affiliate KOIN.
Police say the 33-year-old woman returned home with her two children, 5 and 10, and found the unidentified intruder, 59. KOIN reports the woman shot the man, a stranger, with her personal handgun after a confrontation.
Police tell the station the woman and her children are victims in the situation. They say the family is traumatized. They were reportedly not hurt in the incident.
The woman cooperated with investigators and the case is being sent to the Multnomah County District Attorney's Office for review, according to the station.
Neighbor Amber Murray told the station the home was vacant for a while before the woman and her children moved in recently.
"I know when the previous renters were there, there was a lot of mischief," Murray said. "After they moved out I think there were a few squatters in and out of there."
Investigators are working to determine why the man was in the home. An autopsy is planned for Monday.
If there's an intruder in your home, better to assume a mortal threat to you and your loved ones than to try to play Hamlet.
I think you are probably right that it might have been a derelict coming back to their former squatting location. It struck me that most people quit doing burglaries and home invasions before the age of 59.
If the robber and rapist is a muslim, she will be charged with a hate crime by Looney Lynch who won’t charge Hillary with treason.

He was only hiding. She's in BIG trouble unless he did something to make her fear for her life or the lives of her children!
Liberal infested grand jury...indict.

I’m sure the libs are not to happy about this.
I live about a mile from her house. There is an old railway right-of-way between us that has been turned into a bike path. within the past few years there’s been a huge increase in the ‘homeless’ population and many of them are camped out along the bike trail. In my own neighborhood we’ve seen a marked increase of petty theft and prowling.
It’s entirely possible the victim was simply returning to a house that had been abandoned the last time he was there. Of course, it’s equally possible he was planning a rape-murder-robbery. He really screwed up by silencing his own side of the story.
He’ll be more careful next time. /s

We don’t know what the confrontation was, if there was one. And, no, I don’t think I’d open fire on someone for just being in my house.
Anything is possible, you sort it out in your child's room, I'll shoot him in mine.
