Thank you for the feedback.

I count incorrectly on my fingers every so often.

Not having 7 fingers on my hand is an actual handicap to haiku-ing.

I understand. I had to count it several times before I was convinced there were only 6 syllables.

Perhaps one can be truly successful at haiku only in Japanese.

When you only have 6 syllables in the second line, you can add fillers like

Though I don't, uh, think
That's what the real genuine
Japanese do. Fo' true.
