The foreign ministers of France and Germany are due to reveal a blueprint to effectively do away with individual member states in what is being described as an “ultimatum”.
Under the radical proposals EU countries will lose the right to have their own army, criminal law, taxation system or central bank, with all those powers being transferred to Brussels.

Why? The Euro doesn’t work. Germany is sick of subsidizing Greece, Spain, and Portugal — and they still have issues with Eastern Europe. I can understand that the emotional response to the Brexit might be to double down on centralization, but realistically, the EU’s going to have to take a breather and rethink things.
Except previously it would have been in dribs and drabs, until it was too late to exit without civil war.

This has got to be satire. Regardless, get out while you can, Europeans.
Basically, the flame on the stove was set too low, and one of the frogs said it wanted to jump out of the pot.
