The foreign ministers of Germany and France on Monday called for ambitious steps to strengthen the European Union after Britain’s shock vote to leave the bloc.

“We will… take further steps toward a political union in Europe, and we invite the other European states to join us in this endeavor,” Frank-Walter Steinmeier and Jean-Marc Ayrault wrote in a joint position paper.

The top diplomats of the two core EU founding members and biggest economies said that “Germany and France have a responsibility to strengthen solidarity and cohesion within the European Union”.

More strangling regulations issued from Brussels, sounds like a plan

Which will fail because both the French and the Germans believe that they should be the ones in charge of it.

Of course they do because without the EU France and Germany are powerless. France would shrivel up because they’re lazy good for nothings (I will not step foot on an Airbus for example). Germany would survive because of their economy.

They did that deliberately. All for political control. Look how well it worked for Italy; they got to appoint that country’s leaders from outside.

By all means lets have more “Nanny State” regulations and less of this “ Individual Freedom and Responsibility” nonsense. So instead of heeding the message they have been sent they are doubling down on the policies that have aroused such anger.

Either more strangling regulations, or jamming shut the exits.

Kind of late to be locking the barn door, now that the first horse has escaped. And it was one of the heavy draft animals, too.

Ummmm, isn’t that type of “mission creep” exactly why the Brits voted to get out?

Why would the people of Germany want to be in the EU? They are the ones that work all day to subsidize the lazy good for nothings in countries like Greexico

They’ve been using the neologism “superstate” for decades; it’s just Newspeak for “empire”. At least Jose Manuel Barroso, former EU Commission head, was candid about the EU being an “empire” back in 2007.

The elite politicians want that, not the people. And they aren’t going to let the people’s wishes get in the way of their ambitions.
