Calamity reigns in 2016 in Chicago, as 1,818 people have been shot in gun violence, 311 murdered, and 1,538 wounded. June has been the bloodiest month with a total of 289 people shot, 51 killed, and 240 wounded, as of June 21.
Fifty-six were shot and 13 killed over the Father’s Day weekend, alone.
Strikingly, mayhem in Chicago ranks right up there with some of the most violent spots globally — Ciudad Juarez, Mexico; Karachi, Pakistan; Mogadishu, Somalia; Beirut, Lebanon; and the West Bank in Israel.

Essentially these murders occur mostly in two areas. Those who don’t live there barely notice them. They aren’t horrified. Those who live in those areas are either resigned or too into the lifestyle to leave. I recall an interview of a woman who had lost two her several children in one year to drive by shootings. Nowhere in the interview did she say she would move. Why not? What is so appealing that she stays? If Chicagoans don’t care, whey should the rest of us?

Well we got to ask the question. What if gun regulations really were liberal in Chicago. What would happen.
Would there be a spate of deaths of these gang bangers as fed up people began to fight back — and then things would settle down?
She won’t move because she can’t. She’s stuck. (Also why the Dems see her as a reliable voter).
Does the local put her into a welfare pot of jam? Does she really think it is primarily about herself, so losing a kid or two is no biggie, she still gets to live her idea of large?
I guess the criminals aren’t aware that Chicago is a gun-free zone, eh?
It would be interesting for an interviewer to ask (1) if someone ponied up funds for her to move, would she do it? and (2) if the law became lax enough to allow HER to be armed, would she shoot back?

Well, your question #2 has been answered, in that she can arm herself. Question #1 merely is hypothetical, and not worth our while time.
If you factor out 10 or so neighborhoods Chicago becomes about as violent as Geneva Switzerland.

Hm. You’d think that a bunch of those mamas would become pistol packing mamas then, and the next time the drive bys drove by and shot, POW back at them.
