Been at this long, long time.
If Trump is trying to woo Hispanic vote by ratcheting back on getting rid of illegals, he is just playing into the GOPe and Dems playbook.
He has dropped in polls because he never educates the legal Mexican community and their sympathetic friends about the back story beind Judge Curiel about which he severely gaffed.
Those persons described above are super naive about the La Raza ambitions and their propaganda campaign to achieve it.They do not like it when they learn about it, but until they do learn, MECHA and La Raza and Chicanos Por la Causa are just fraternal groups to many.
If Trump keeps going like this, he will gain a few Hispanics and lose a lot of the support of abused legal Americans who have pinned their hopes on him.
Look at 2012.
We can be compassionate, yet still deport or cause self deportation. We can have liberal, but traceable visitaion visas and medical visas with serious sanctions for those who abuse. We can defer hard cases deportation for a window of time and have help for them to relocate.
But do not fall for the trap set by those recommending what appears to be a softening of his original position on illegal entrants.
They are wrong.
The Judge Curiel thing frustrated me because, if he was going to bring it up (which he did), he could have articulated it so it didn’t come off the way it did. I do believe that was a contributor to his drop in the polls, but if he explained the judge’s affiliation with this La Raza and reasons why he thought the case was being decided unfairly, I don’t think it would have caused the problems that it did.
I agree with every word you said. Sure wish we had a “like” button here.
