Didn’t I read somewhere that the government is not bound by the vote? And also that they have no idea how they’re going to do it? Don’t get me wrong, I am for OUT but will the government screw it up?

$64,000 question:
Would the Brexit side have prevailed if Donald Trump was not on the world stage and not been the GOP presumptive nominee?

“Now, how will they thwart this vote?”
By reminding everyone that the vote was advisory only and it does not have binding authority to force Parliament to vote on leaving the EU.

POLAND IS NEXT!!!
My heartfelt wishes to all proud Britons on the INDEPENDENCE DAY from a proud Polish! You have my eternal love for avenging Poland for the perfidious humiliations by Junker, Schulz, Timmermans and others.
Thank you, Britannia!

Glad to see the Brits still have some inclination toward sovereignty. I think the Iron Lady would approve.

The vote is that the UK will leave the EU.
The vote is a referendum. It's not legally binding on Parliament. (But they'd be stupid to ignore it.)
I wish many Freepers would stop writing in absolutes until they check the facts.

I believe that such would be called, “Suckxit,” since (of course) those places suck.

Truly exciting, I’m very happy for the U.K on their Re-Independence day! Maybe we are getting the band back together with America and the U.K. if this trend of establishment rejection, and thirst for sovereignty continues to bring out patriotic voters.

I know exactly how the system works - if you check posts I've made in the last few days, you'll find me explaining the constitutional issues involved in this for the UK in general - including why, while it is technically true that the referendum isn't binding (because of the principle of Parliamentary sovereignty) in reality this vote can be expected to lead to the intended result.
Just one example from yesterday.
I'm not the right person to be accusing of not understanding this situation. I've been correcting misapprehensions about it over and over again.
