Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
The nations, not so blest as thee,
Must in their turn, to tyrants fall,
Must in their turn, to tyrants fall,
While thou shalt flourish, shalt flourish great and free,
The dread and envy of them all.
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Britons never, never, never shall be slaves.
Rule Britannia!
Britannia rule the waves.
Jerusalem is my favourite (despite its ‘questionable’ theology), but Rule Britannia seemed too appropriate this time.
Hopefully this means the U.K. will be in control of their own Destiny again.
And not the E.U.S.S.R.

No - and he shouldn’t. I’m not happy about it, but he was elected. And this whole thing is about Britons making decisions for Britons - and that means Londoners get to make decisions for London.
Thanks!!!
I haven’t been this on edge about a vote since the Bush/Gore election where it was thisclose!!!
I will be up all night and hope to see them vote to LEAVE!!!!
cnbc asia reports protest vote on undemocratic brussles and cameron. wales not northwest not. only se london is stay.
A Brexit win does not necessarily mean a Brexit.
The vote is not binding. That is Cameron can ignore the results and put a vote to the MP’s.
I grew up listening to Emerson Lake and Palmer and Jerusalem is one of their best.
if uk leaves....who’s next?
BTTT!!
Actually their lot will be harder after this. Problem is though that Brussels has lost their way (if they ever had it).
I expect Cold War 2.0 out of this with Brussels making things immeasurably worse by trying to punish the UK instead of getting their heads out of their rears and dealing with the situation realistically.
True. But if Parliament ignores the results of the vote, I would respectfully ask that Her Majesty prorogue Parliament and call for new elections.
Theoretically yes - but it would trigger a massive Constitutional crisis, and the Queen would intervene. It’s very rare that she would use the reserve powers but if the British government fails to respect a referendum decision, she will.
I’ve gone through all this yesterday as well. I know the British constitution pretty well and the idea that the vote wasn’t binding was really just another attempt by people to derail this leave vote by convincing people it didn’t matter.
Damned Scotland! (My ancestors home) is solidly in the “Remain camp. How can those fools vote for the SNP and want to remain in the EU?
If they were even split 50/50 it wouldn’t be close.
And in that situation, she would invoke her reserve powers and do so. First of all, she would warn the Prime Minister. Then she would appoint a new one of her own choosing to put in place the necessary legislation, and then there would be an immediate general election (the last two steps could be in the opposite order but she would act).
'Biggest uprising since Peasants Revolt in 1381'
Our chief political correspondent Christopher Hope puts the referendum into historical context.
The 2016 EU referendum is set to the biggest uprising against the people who run the UK since the Peasants Revolt in 1381.
Britain's bosses, politicians, church leaders, sports stars, bankers, economists and celebrities told the people to vote to Remain in the UK.
And (by the look of it now) the people sent back a massive V sign.
Democracy indeed.
It looked more like a massive middle finger to me.
Cameron is probably personally stuffing ballot boxes.
UK: FU EU! An indication the UK is on the road to regaining their sovereignty? Maybe WE can learn a thing or two from this.
Thank you for your informed insights and comments about the political implications that most of us are not familiar with.
