Tomorrow night I've got one of the great chamber music warhorses by Dvorak, and it's a lot of fun, true wallerin' music. I've also got pieces by Leonard Bernstein and Dmitri Shostakovich. Dmitri's piece is a string quartet from 1946 where he manages to sneak his sardonic humor past Stalin's cultural commissars.
Saturday night features a piece written by Bartok for Benny Goodman and a sonata by Prokofiev.
Good listening for all.
Oooo...I’m looking forward to all those wallerin’ pieces!
