Unfortunately, many here co-opted the “Amish” joke and apply it to blacks. Not at all as applicable because Amish are religious and Moslems are religious. Black is a race. I wish that bad joke would stop; apples and oranges.

Many apply it that way because it is considered politically incorrect to point out this particular truth; Young black males represent about 3% of the population, but commit 40% of all violent crime.

If you point this out, liberals will label you "racist" because they really don't care about truth. How they "feel" about things is what is important to them.

I know all that.

It’s just that “Amish” and “Moslem” both refer to religious customs.

“Black” does not. Perhaps to be tongue-in-cheek these should be called “Asian” (PC - I prefer oriental or maybe be perfectly consistent and say yellow).

It just bugs me.

Especially with all the gallows humor using “Amish” following 9/11.

Speaking of which, I heard an armed services recruiting radio commercial yesterday telling us our emotional needs would be met by enlisting. Sounded like they’re short of rainbow soldiers.
