Maybe it was the presence of "protestors" outside Trump Tower which is in a prime high-end designer shopping area - 5th Ave & 57th St. Don't want those riff raff around uptown.
That may be it. This is the first I’ve heard of it, frankly. But upper 5th in midtown does have beautiful shops and hotels. With all the homeless protestors and violent types, I’m sure they got together to complain. Sad, really. I was at Trump Tower last August when Trump was eating in the lobby. 5th Avenue going strong with no problems.
In an earlier reply I had mentioned a requirement that the lobby always be open to the public...city code? Requirement for construction? Repeated local bad press would hurt him.
I just walked past Trump tower, I didn’t see any protesters at all. Just tourists and a few satellite news trucks. I did snap a picture of the Trump Secret Service motorcade (parked) on 56th street. I’ll upload the picture and post it here later.
