Even as a kid in my first job, I realized my co-workers and I were ultimately on the same team, and if one got fired, I would never mock them publicly - because it would make me look bad also. I guess some people in politics are so arrogant, they can't imagine such a concept. I have come to have little respect for people in politics and academia - exactly for this reason.
