...force change...???? Oh please.... When will all of this start? When will the UK force any change what so ever? They tell us how high the children’s swings must be set. Micro-management on steroids. Big Brother on Steroids... Siding with Brussels is siding with statism and that is not in the best interests of the UK. Rule the world for crying out loud. Just imagine the world today without British influence. Stop siding with the losers... Grow a spine and lead!!! The world is desperate for British culture and leadership and you wimp are scurrying off to the EU to join mediocracy.

When will all of it start? It's already been happening. The UK has opposed many of the French ideas for the EU. And it's leadership was what many of the non-Franco-German countries wanted and got

"Tell us how high the children's swings sets must be set" -- you do realise that the UK proposes and implements these and had rules on children's playground safety.

Do you really think that the UK won't keep these safety rules?

Furthermore you're just repeating another myth from the Daily Express. No-one was ordered to remove their playground sings. the non-mandatory measure referred to had nothing to do with the EU -- this was part of the European Standardization committee and was adopted as a BRITISH STANDARD in the 90s

"Siding with statism" -- and you think the UK doesn't already do statism? Have you even been to the UK? The UK already has 24% of employees working in the Public sector -- compare that to Germany with just 15% or France with 20%. The UK's public sector even more than Italys (17%)

And the Scots are unhappy that this number of 24% is after cuts by the tories -- they want it back up to 27%

Rule the world for crying out loud.

Who? The English? Not going to happen again. They used their chance in the sun well, but the circumstances have gone - their rise happened from 1753 onwards when they defeated fRance, when the Spanish and Portuguese were weak, the Germans hopelessly divided and the Indians and Chinese under foreign rulers (the Mughals and the Manchu respectively). The time is gone -- just as Assyria will never be the premier Empire again, just as Portugal will never be a first-rate power again, England's time in the sun is gone. It was glorious, but it is over.

Past British influence or present? In the past yes, they did great things. Right now, they do quite good things, but it's not the same level as earlier.

grow a spine and lead -- and that's what they would do if they jumped head first into the EU and tore apart the Franco-German alliance. Germany would ally with the UK a lot -- the UK could lead with a 500 million strong hinterland.

"British culture"? Huh? When was the last time you visited the UK if ever? The culture is gone. This is no longer the genteel Edwardian era. British or specifically English culture is gone (Scottish lowland is gone as well, not so much SKye culture or Cymru)
