Always lock at least one door of the car with your key. That way you will never lock your keys in it.
International Harvester, some years back. The doors did not lock auto, I pushed down buttons and then locked the driver’s door with the key, from outside. No way to lock the keys inside.
Every car since, I find an out of the way place on the frame and wire up a spare.
