Donald Trump reaffirmed his stance on restricting individuals on the terror watch list from being able to purchase firearms, despite Republican objections.
"We have to make sure that people that are terrorists or have even an inclination toward terrorism cannot buy weapons, guns," Trump told ABC's White House Correspondent Jonathan Karl in an interview that will air Sunday on "This Week."

Twisted, huh?
Am I disappointed? Yes.
Am I surprised? No.
This is simply the first of many such disappointments we're due from Trump -- the non-conseervative.
Was Mateen on the watch list?
If the FBI is really ‘watching’ them shouldn’t that be enough to prevent their jihad?
Exactly. All Bonzo has to do is get “Get Back Home Loretta” Lynch to designate the NRA as a terrorist group. I know the Nazis down at the SPLC will be happy to confirm for her that the NRA is a terrorist group.
Yes, it does, because, you see, Cruz is the Zodiac Killer, so there, and he’s a gun-grabber on top of that.

The Terrorist Screening Database or TSDB is the central terrorist watchlist consolidated by the FBI’s Terrorist Screening Center and used by multiple agencies to compile their specific watchlists and for screening. As of June 2016 the list is estimated to contain over 2,484,442 records, consisting of 1,877,133 individual identities.[1][2] Approximately 1,600 nominations are suggested daily, 600 names are removed and 4,800 records are modified by the U.S. intelligence community. Approximately one out of twenty of the people on the list are U.S. citizens or legal permanent residents.[3]
...The Justice Department’s Office of Inspector General has criticized the list for frequent errors and slow response to complaints. An Office of Inspector General audit found that 38% of a 105 record sample contained inaccuracies.

Are non-citizens with Green Cards allowed to buy Firearms?
If so, why?
Anyone know the circumstances of anyone being put on the Terrorist list?
Of course this was just a gotcha question to Trump anyway. If he said no, the Headline would be “Trump supports Terrorists getting AR-15’s”.
This Administration isn’t Transparent by a long shot, but the Media is unintentionally Transparent.
“You realize that you’re a KNOWN cruzer, don’t you?”
Does that make ConservativeTeen’s comment less reasonable? Seems to me it was a very reasonable comment.
I understand the impulse here, but exactly what is the criteria for getting on such a list in the first place?
Isn't this some kind of prior restraint issue?
If you're a law-abiding citizen, you should be able to buy a gun. What's to prevent the government from one-day suddenly saying "OK, everyone's on the list"?
I don't see how this can be legal without something resembling due process.
That's it. I'm switching my vote and voting for Hillary.
What? She supports the idea too?
OK, like I said, Congress will have our backs.
Whew! That was a close one...
Vote Trump.
P.S. Mr. Trump, you'd better watch your ass on this issue. You're treading on thin ice...
“No problem IF the list is transparent, appealable, and with clarity on why someone on it. Terrorism, not politics.”
YES! That is the crux of the issue. We’re eight years into basically a Commie Presidency without any transparecy. Gining up “lists” outside our legal system and without ironclad due process requirements is a non-starter. Putting people on lists without any notification that they’ve been placed there cou[led with no legal recourse is the reason for the NRA’s current position. Trump is still right to be looking for ways to stem this violence. The fact is that if we didn’t allow muzzies into the country we would not have the magintude of problem we have had as a consequence.
I’ve heard there are over a million and a half people on this list and Obama has added 400K to the list.
Where is the due process?
Yup. Anyone that owns an evil M4 platform...all those so called Home grown types.
It would be used with the same integrity the IRS investigated tax exempt applications. Looks like they would have a opening for Louis Lerner to come out of retirement.
If the person is such a menace that we don’t want him on aircraft, maybe he should be in a rubber room?
The comment is framed in the floodlight of Cruzerhood.
You are right. This is about how stupid and incompetent the “watch list” has become. If the “watch list” was administered competently, by good minds, making sure those on the list didn’t have access to weapons would be a no-brainer.
Unfortunately, as it stands now, administering the “watch list” seems to have been handed to people who flunked the Postal Service test.
Also it’s supposed to be something like double secret probation, but there won’t be any “secret” about it when it has a side effect like this.
We’re looking at how to rearrange the deck chairs on the Titanic in this situation. There’s no answer that really means a hoot in the end.
Ultra slippery slope. What will be the next encroachment on our rights? And the next?
Who gets to define what a terrorist is?
...
I think Obama is going to appoint Lois Lerner.
If Trump wins, conservatives can expect four or eight more years of this.
We’ve created a shadowy “pre-crime” area. This question was inevitable to come up sooner or later.
We should be asking if America should be operating in this manner. If the person is too dangerous to fly, put him in a rubber room, because he’d also probably bomb a bus, a train, whatever.
However, the due process overhead would be immense; a lot simpler to keep lists.
