You won’t change it by sending random Crist-supporting millionaires who sing the tea party tune just to get elected either. Or by sending Patrick Murphy who would likely defeat Beuff anyway (actually that would change it, for the worse). I’m an optimal realistic outcome guy, which is why I endorsed Trump after Cruz left the race. I presume Trump is pleased at this development, he doesn’t want Patrick Murphy in there.
If DeSantis had remained in the race maybe it’s a different story but to me, this is a no-brainer, I can’t say that Rubio is a bad Senator (you can, I don’t agree), I can’t say Beuff would be a better Senator than Rubio, I can’t even say that he’s not actually worse than Rubio (and that alone closes the door for me supporting any challenger to any incumbent), but I can say that Rubio has a much better chance of beating Patrick Murphy, he probably beats him and Beuff probably does not.
I understand and respect your position but we’ll have to agree to disagree on this one. Polling has Rubio crushing Beuff anyway so our opinions are both probably moot, Bueff will likely have nothing to show for this race but higher name recognition (up from zero) if he chooses to run for office again, and a thinner bank account balance. If I were him I would not waste my money attacking Rubio and instead bank some party goodwill by clearing the field. If were him I also would have denounced Charlie Crist after he left the party rather than continuing to support his candidacy for the Senate.
As it turned out, there wouldn’t have been a dime’s worth of difference between Bubbles and the Orange Menace. At least the latter had the common courtesy to switch parties. I’ve laid out why I will never support Roofio again, and I hope Beruff obliterates him in the primary.
If Beruff turns out to be a lying phony, we’ll turn him out, but I already know what Bubbles is.
