HARTFORD, Conn. (WTNH) — Governor Dannel Malloy is asking gun sellers, both in-state and out of state, to voluntarily stop selling semi-automatic weapons on Father’s Day, June 19th.
Malloy asks sellers to do this as a sign of respect to the fathers and parents who lost children in the Orlando nightclub shooting.
“We are calling on Connecticut gun sellers to avoid all semi-automatic weapons sales on Father’s Day for one reason. We should show respect, through a symbolic gesture, to those who’ve lost loved ones in Orlando,” Gov. Malloy said.
Since 2013, Connecticut has prohibited the AR-15 and the Sig Saucer MCX and has since seen a decrease in violent crimes.

I think most fathers would be ashamed that their sons were gay. I've hear that they are withholding the names of the deceased out of respect for the fathers.

What about anti-freeze and rat poison? Wives are more likely to kill their husbands with anti-freeze or some type of poison than a semi-automatic weapon. Wouldn't fathers feel good about that too?

Symbolic gestures are STUPID in the face of REAL TERRORISM. When MEN do a symbolic gesture after a terrorist attack or Obama speech (almost the same thing), they BUY a gun and another 1000 rounds of ammo!

I saw 2 grey cars drive past my house the other day, and it was followed by a UPS truck delivery. So if you see 2 grey colored cars pass by it means you are going to receive a package from Amazon!
So the goobernor of that little state is asking gun sellers not to sell a rifle is prohibited in that state on Father's Day.
How about if they ask molsems not to attend mosque on fathers day in honor of the murdered victims

What statistical facts and methods were used to prove the premise?
26 people “murdered” in the 2012 Sandy hook incident would create a huge violent crime spike, which following year’s 2013 - 2015 would of course show “a decrease of violent crimes”.
The long arm ban likely has had no bearing on the gangbanger shootings happening in CT cities, ie: Hartford, New Haven, New London, Bridgeport, New Britain.
