“”How often are you told its none of your Fin business?””
“Never”
Obviously you dont work in Brooklyn. :-)
Asking people why they are pizzed off just irritates them more. If did that to me we would have a problem.
No matter. My feeling is, you say anything rude or to a customer or have attitude, you might as well quit right there on the spot, or you are getting let go.
Doesn’t mean you have to take crap. If the customer behavior is egregious enough to cause you to be rude back, then you call your supervisor over.
I don’t want someone working for me who can’t maintain a front to a customer. I don’t care how uncivil that customer is. Granted, I may completely side with that employee, but if I have a code of conduct in place and a process to follow, they better do it. And that code of conduct will specifically bar contentious discourse with customers, and a process if it is encountered.
How often are you told its none of your Fin business?
Never
Wait. Are you female? That would explain it. Females would get a grunt, not a nasty comeback.
