Legendary reporter Bob Woodward says Donald Trump is taking a harsher stance against The Washington Post than even President Nixon did during the Watergate scandal.
"The Nixon White House did not formally pull press credentials of the Post" when the newspaper was reporting on the scandal that eventually forced Nixon to resign, Woodward said Tuesday, according to NBC News.
He added that Nixon did exclude the Post from covering social events at the White House, though.
Trump, the presumptive Republican presidential nominee, on Monday said he was revoking The Washington Post's press credentials over the newspaper's "dishonest reporting."
"Based on the incredibly inaccurate coverage and reporting of the record-setting Trump campaign, we are hereby revoking the press credentials of the phony and dishonest Washington Post," he wrote in a Facebook post.

Watergate was absolutely nothing compared to the least of crimes that the Clintons are connected with. The difference is he had #NeverNixon types in the Senate not unlike the #NeverTrump hacks we have in the Senate today, that hated him, and they will do the same thing to Trump if we let them.
Woodward had a special talent that let him interview imaginary witnesses, even one in a complete coma.
It’s funny how the same posters who, I imagine, wouldn’t hear a word against Mitt Romney in ‘12 will similarly defend this GOP candidate regardless of his missteps.
Yeah, funny things happen when 50 Americans are laying dead in the street. There will be a lot more dead Americans should deluded Cruzers and never Trumpers enable the election of the Butcher of Benghazi. Of course they care not one whit about murdered Americans as long as Saint Rafael of Goldman can run again in 2020.
Woodward never was very bright. Listen to him talk. He sounds sedated.
I can’t believe the Trump Campaign hasn’t pointed out how Obama went after all the press he didn’t like. Maybe someone should remind people how Obama treated press he didn’t like. It’s hard to argue facts.
Exactly. Nixon never locked press in closets as Dems did a few years ago. That Woodward doesn’t take umbrage at that shows he is nothing more than a propagandist.
Obama did things that the Dems wanted to impeach Nixon for only thinking about, like using the IRS to persecute his political enemies.
