'We Shouldn’t Be Mourning the Deaths': Sacramento Pastor Praises Orlando Massacre
NBC Bay Area ^ | Jun 14, 2016

Posted on 06/15/2016 8:54:51 AM PDT by nickcarraway

A Sacramento pastor is receiving backlash after video of his sermon discussing the Orlando massacre surfaced online.

In a YouTube video uploaded by Verity Baptist Church, Pastor Roger Jimenez praises the massacre of 49 people at Pulse night club in Orlando, Florida and claims to be upset that the gunman did not finish the job.

The video, which was removed by YouTube on Tuesday for violating their policy on hate speech, has already caught the attention of people intolerant of this pastor’s sermon.

“As Christian’s we shouldn’t be mourning the deaths of these 50 sodomites,” Jimenez said. “Because the bible teaches that these sodomites are all, every single one of them, a predator.”

Known for his “red-hot preaching,” Jimenez is the pastor of Sacramento’s Verity Baptist Church that began in his living room in 2010 and now has over 200 worshipers every Sunday morning.

After waking up to the news of the massacre in Orlando, Florida, Jimenez took the opportunity to preach statistics on gays and lesbians and defend his perspective on why Christian’s shouldn’t mourn the massacre.

In the sermon Jimenez continued to quote directly from the New International Version Bible explaining that gays and lesbians are defined as abusers and pedophiles.

One of Jimenez’ main sources of evidence for his claims came from Judges 19:22-30, a story describing the “vile” habits of homosexuals.

“Our society wants to classify everybody, it’s LBGT whatever,” Jimenez explained. “This passage proves they all go both ways, they’re all a bunch of perverts! The classification is this, they’re unnatural.”

Throughout the heated 45-minute sermon that has received backlash from the general public, Jimenez calls for another massacre and reminds the worshipers that this isn’t just his opinion, it’s the word of the Bible.

“Aren’t you sad that 50 sodomites died,” Jimenez asked. “It’s like the equivalent of asking me, ‘Hey are you sad that 50 pedophiles were killed today?’ No. I think that’s great, I think that helps society. I think Orlando, Florida is a little safer tonight.”

Jimenez ended his sermon reminding those in the church that Christians should have no need to mourn the deaths, claiming that they had it coming.

“Every less sodomite there is in this country is better for our country,” Jimenez concluded.

YouTube users have responded furiously to a majority of the videos found on the Church’s page. Several have taken it upon themselves to rate them on Facebook, explaining their anger at the ignorance in his sermons.

“This man does not know God, he is siding with terrorism....clearly full of self-hate, the blind leading the blind," Theresa Krause wrote on the church's Facebook page. "I hope one day he comes to know God, God is love. He is very far away from that at this point.” Another commenter expressed their disgust in the pastor's sermon.

“This pastor is no man of God! He is hateful and promoting violence against human beings!" Maryann Ciali wrote on the church's Facebook page. "I am of Christian faith and we believe in gods love toward all mankind. So disgusted with this pastor.”

More division between the democrat factions. Of course it won’t be reported so everyone will assume that he is white.

Whatever this nut achieves, evangelization won’t be it.

sounds like a Westboro spin off. He is not true Christian.

Jesus taught the law was to be followed, and since we cannot do what the law demands, his life, death and resurrection rescues us.

Jesus would not condone homosexual behavior or the murder of those who engage therein. God judges our sin in the end. Those who refuse His forgiveness (and you’ll know those who accept it by the fruit of their repentant lives) will be judged by Him.

John 8 tells the story of the woman caught in adultery. Jesus offered the woman forgiveness and then told her “Go and sin no more.” It isn’t “either/or”—with Christ it is “both/and”.

All of us are deeply depraved in sin. None of us can say we are worthy of salvation. All of us fall short of God’s demand. That is what makes Jesus’ offer so extraordinary.

I think this kind of nonsense highlights the need for actual gospel.

Without that, we’re just going to be bashing each other over outward manifestations.

This nut is fact challenged. Not everybody at that club that night was homo; it was a mixed night.

And what do we do with Abraham’s bargain? (10 righteous men = spare the city).

I think it is very irresponsible for Barack and his friends to be egging on evil things and this probably won’t be the last time that Islam and “gay” will get mixed and will blow up. However a wickedness problem ultimately needs a gospel answer.

I’m sad about it. I might mourn if I knew the people personally, which I don’t.

I think we should be very sad that we have a clown of a president now that eggs on evil.

This guy’s a plant, just like the Westboro freaks.

Post 6 on the thread above, the useful part copied here: “I guess i’m just a horrible person or something because I feel the same way I would if I had just heard that an ISIS troop transport had suddenly gone over a cliff.”

Just not sure about the plant theory, beyond those who think this way have all the brains of a potted plant. Yes, DiogenesLamp, I’m talking about you (hence the ping).

That’s a fellow freeper, not a plant, not a Westboro freak, who - make no mistake about it - feels the same about the killing of 49 US citizens as she does about a busload of ISIS folks going over a cliff.

It’s our shameful little secret. We’re all rotten. For some people, the rotten is clearly visible. For others it is like dead man’s bones in a whitewashed sepulchre.

Was on his radio show. Played clips of this guy. I just think it muddles the real issue and since (I believe) the pastor is an anomaly he should rightly be ignored, not broadcast on a national radio show.

Us Christians are already being blamed in some circles for islams attitude, and this just provides those people (false) ammo.

This kind of vulgar talk damages Christians.

I believe sexual perversions are a sin but they’re between the person sinning and God.

To praise the death of people going to a nightclub, is well-nigh reprehensible.

A decent person wants nothing to do with Islamic terrorists, even if you disapprove of the gay lifestyle.

I don’t find that post of DL’s the least bit unreasonable. When it comes to having culturally turned the nation into a repulsive cesspool of depravity, and spitting on every single thing about it that I once loved and revered, the homo-fascists and their enablers have done far more damage than the Muzzie slime.

They are both abject poison to Western Civilization.

“As Christian’s we shouldn’t be mourning the deaths of these 50 sodomites,

This was a popular nightclub that was frequented by gays. There is no reason to believe there were not any heterosexuals in attendance also.......

This pastor is a crackpot and there is no way I would attend his church.......Is he related to the Westboro Baptist church?

What the “preacher” failed to pick up on is that the terrorist had no right to take anybody’s life. Period. It’s the government’s role to “wield the sword.” What he did was 49 acts of murder.

We’re to hate sins like homosexuality, but love the sinner enough to give them the Gospel, and command them to repent and have faith in Christ, to escape the wrath that awaits them. The most loving thing we can do is try to keep people from eternal merciless torture in hell and the lake of fire in this way. But the Left calls this love hate.

Congratulations.

Another freeper who finds common cause with radical islamic terrorists killing American citizens.

You and DL must be very happy that someone is doing the work for you that you would not dirty your hands with - or is it because you lack the courage of your convictions?

“Christians are called to pray for the conversioin of all to Christ through repentance, not calling for their deaths.”

These people are not really dead. I’m certain they’ll all vote for Hillary this November.

Funny how all the media were able to find the 1-3 so-called Christian pastors who rejoiced at what happened on Sunday. However, they couldn’t be bothered to write articles about the dozens and dozens of imams in both the US and world-wide who feel that way!
