Were people at Disney aware there were gators in the lake ? Were there warning signs posted at the lake . News reports say that the child and his father were dangling their feet in the water at the edge of the lake . Something is wrong with this picture .

NEVER NEVER NEVER allow a small child to play at the edge of any body of water in Florida. That goes for small pets as well.
When I was a firefighter we had a horrible house fire one day where two children died in an upstairs bedroom.
The parents had recently taken out a $100,000.00 insurance policy on them.
Our fire investigators determined that the couple had doused the downstairs and the stairway with flammable liquids, put the kids down to take a nap, lit the fire and walked up to the store.
Thinking they would hit the jackpot. Both were convicted of the two murders of their children due to the results of the fire investagators.
Not saying the parents in FL did anything like this but greedy people are greedy.

If public Jihadi attacks are not enough to convince you, here is yet another reason for daily CCW. You never know when your sidearm will be needed. I heard the dad struggled unsuccessfully with the gator before the gator left with his son.
First I’ve heard of this... how horrible! Was there more public outrage and press on the gorilla being shot in Cincinnati zoo than this child?
Seems some parents are not on guard with their children. Don’t realize the danger all around them.
This is what happens when you replace American workers by lower paid immigrant workers who don’t care about the working conditions or safety of the guests.
Florida now has crocodiles due various numb nutz throwing them into the canals and lakes. Crocs are not native to Florida. The crocodile numbers are still small but if they can find a good eco- niche they can get large.

The likely place is a little stretch of beach by the beach pool bar that is designed for lounging in the sand.

One employee at the resort who did not want to be identified said in an email “There is such a problem on property with guests feeding the alligators thinking it’s cool.” There are two at the Buena Vista Palace that people regularly feed from balconies, he said.
