I don't get your point. Are you saying that a person's ability to accept the truth is not influenced by their trust (or lack of trust) in the truth-teller?

I would say that gravity always "works" because it does not require the cooperation of the falling object; but bare unprepared "truth-telling" doesn't always work, because it DOES require the cooperation of the hearer.

If the transmitter is working, but the receiver isn't, the broadcast is a fail.

A persons “ability to accept the truth” has no bearing on whether or not a FACT is true or not.
