In China a few years ago they found red haired mummies in the desert...and scientists scratched their heads. All my European cousins knew who they were before the DNA came in. If there’s a way to make a trade deal, they go in with their broadswords and “negotiate!” Weird thinking the distances they had to go to get there and send goods home. Strange thinking of vikings in caravans riding Bactrian camels and not a tree or an ocean anywhere. Hollywood doesn’t know a good movie idea if it lands on their foot. A few Chinese movies have exploited the idea, though...kung fu warriors meet greedy Vikings and dent their armor for them...hei-yah. Of course the blonde Thor lookin’ guy falls in love with the chinese female warrior hottie :)

This could bring out a bunch of protestors. They scheduled it so that it would end much before nightfall which should help alleviate serious problems.

The last streetcar lines were shut down in 1959, but the extra long PCC streetcars used in Chicago had many useful years of life left. So the PCC cars were shopped and turned into PCC Loop El cars serving the subway-el system.
The last of the PCC el cars were taken out of service in the late Eighties. Some of them went to Philadelphia to serve on the Upper Darby-Norristown Line as the last Brill Bullets of 1931 and Brill Straffords of 1920 died with their wheels on. The new French equipment came on line in the Nineties, and the PCC el cars went to museums.
