Reports of wild celebrations in Arab villages and neighborhoods following last weeks deadly terror attack in the Sarona Market in Tel Aviv left many shocked and horrified. Yet such expressions of joy and satisfaction following murderous acts of terrorism are hardly new, and have become a frequent occurrence after such attacks.
Perhaps the most well-publicized celebrations came in the wake of the 9/11 attacks in 2001, when Arabs across Judea, Samaria, Gaza, and eastern Jerusalem were filmed cheering and handing out candy.
For one young woman, however, these spontaneous expressions of celebration were not merely disgusting or disturbing they were a frightening reminder of the danger she lived with every single day.
Sarah (whose real name has been withheld to protect her identity) spoke with Arutz Sheva about the four years she lived in Yatta, the home village of the two terrorists responsible for last weeks murderous attack in Tel Aviv. During her time in Yatta, Sarah told Arutz Sheva, she saw regular expressions of joy and support for terror attacks support, she said, which was shared by the entire village.
There is no joy like the [joy] they have when something like this happens, said Sarah. They talk about it in every house. It becomes the talk of the town. Everyone rejoices and is happy; both men and women.
When terrorism was on the rise, Sarah recalls, even those closest to her in the village, including her husbands family, grew hostile.
On the one hand they looked at me strangely, as if they wanted to murder me; on the other hand they praised me for being there and becoming one of them. But at the end of the day I suffered from a lot of racism....

This neither bothers me, nor is it a surprise.
Did we cheer when we caught Saddam?
Did we cheer when we killed his two idiot sons?
Did we cheer when Osama was killed?
It is normal in a war for the opposing side to cheer when they achieve something they think is notable.
I don’t condone it. But, lets not get all worked up about it either.
Unfortunate that Mohammed did not pen in a sentence in the koran or hadith that if a follower was incensed when crossing paths with a nonbeliever the follower is required to set fire to himself. These folks would never have made it out of the seventh century alive and the world would now be free of much of its insanity and most of its refugees.
But...but...unfollowed Facebook friends tell me it’s Republican Christians who did it!
This neither bothers me, nor is it a surprise.

I think what you are missing is that there is a difference in cheering achievement of military objectives such as the capture or death of enemies as you cite and abject terrorism with a focused objective to purposefully kill innocent civilians whether they be women or children. No civilized society cheers that kind of civilian terror.
Please explain.
Surely you’re not equating cheering the demise of Bin Laden etc. with the intentional murder of civilians?
I understand what he’s saying.
He’s basically saying we’re at war, and that’s what enemies do at the demise at their enemies.
He means, they know they are at war with us.
Any who is shocked is foolish and naive.
I see where FOX is reporting that the Orlando terrorist cheered 9/11 in his high school classroom.
Wonder how many will recall the Hubbub when Trump stated he saw Muslims in NJ cheering the attack. Interesting reminder.
I recall after the bodies of the killers at Munich were released to Libya, they were given a hero’s welcome.
I dont think thats the point...
The point is we are led to believe that the majority of “adherents” are not for terrorism. This dispels that myth.
“It Takes a Village.”
Not a surprise, either. But the perversity of it is bothersome. They are cheering that which would cause normal people to bend their heads in shame. It’s like Americans cheering the My Lai massacre, or Sand Creek, saying ‘hooray for Col. Chivingston, may he brain Cheyenne infants with pride’. And beating his Jewish wife for being handy and Jewish is beyond low. When I hear confirmation of their lowness, I reach for my helicopter and white P. grenades, and am only deterred from using them by the fact that they don’t exist.
You are mistaken if you do not think these people are at war with us. They have no armies or “military objectives.”
The problem is you are trying to apply civilized rules of war to these people. That is an error.
This is EXACTLY like our cheering Osama’s death. We had fools dancing outside the white house. I did hang my head in shame over that. Just as I shake my head at the idiocy of Islamic Jihad.
We should not expect them to play by our rules.
I am equating the reaction of people on either side.
You are apply a moral distinction, where from their perspective, there isn’t one.
They are not stupid—they know they could never compete with us on the field. So they fight a war of terrorism. THIS attack is a victory for them, at least in their eyes.
We can be outraged at their reaction. But lets not be surprised.
Well, here’s part of our difference. To you, these are some weird people you don’t ever see, an abstraction that occasionally visits your television screen.
To me, these are people that I have working in my house, that seem friendly and decent, and do a good job cleaning, or installing a new gas range and light fixture. But I can never ever really trust or like them, because for all I know they then go home and do some wild dance of joy over my fellow Jews, or fellow Americans in the case of Orlando, being murdered in the most cowardly, ignoble manner imaginable. Maybe they’d do the same dance over me and mine. But they come in, I pick up a bit of colloquial Arabic from them, they try their English out on me, I serve them coffee, and continue to relate to them as if they are friends or at least amiable acquaintances.
It’s all illusion, or maybe not. Maybe they are from a town, clan or tribe that isn’t into these obscene celebrations, that is relieved to work among Jews who treat them right, and I just don’t get it because my knowledge of Arabs is limited at best.
Today I have read that the killings were the fault of the GOP, the Republican white males, prolifers, the Catholic Church, the crusades and anyone who owns a weapon. twHis is how regressive see others and how they defend radical Islam that just killed 10 people and wounded 53. Blame everyone else but the perp that did the actions. And this is why Islam will defeat us, because progressive have the media which tells us that we are the problem because we won’t submit to Islam
So, why don’t you convert if we’re already destined to lose. All you have to do is make a simple statement in front of witnesses, and you can be one of the winners.
Lol, yep, most LWrs think Islam is the path to progressiveness. But it’s the opposite. The road to hell is paved with good intentions and cover sayings but it’s stil the road to hell. Joining Islam will put a person on the fast track to perdition. All we can do is warn them, but they must make their own decision
This world is the sole province of politics, and in this world, we must fight to win, not just to avoid hell. Trump is the Obiwan, until some better options materialize, but I refuse to fight a losing battle. We must win. Therefore, we can fight. MSM and progressives be damned.
