I don’t understand either how an email sent in 2012 could have a classification date of 2016 on it at the time!
Something is amiss.
Isn’t Hillary claiming that she never sent or received emails that were marked classified “at the time?” My understanding is that the State Dept. can mark something classified at any time. It just seems like this is one of those times.
Unfortunately, I don’t see any smoking gun on this one—it just looks retroactively marked classified—which fits into her convenient excuse (or am I still missing something?).
The Portion Marking was in the original email (which meant that the email was classified when sent). The 2016 marking is from where the FBI or State reviewed the email and marked it. But the portion marked with a C was classified as confidential when it was sent in 2012. Clear as mud?
