The Sultan sure the hell is not gonna hike up Slaughter Canyon to New Cave so he’s safe.
Cavern City Airport handled B17s and B 24s but it isn’t long enough or heavily built enough for a 747 and C17s.
They’ll fly into Holloman and disrupt things in Alamogordo and all the way to Carlsbad on the highway I guess unless they helicopter.
He’ll take the helicopter no matter where he lands. Distance is too far over the mountains on narrow two-lane US 82 from Alamogordo. AF-1 to Holloman or Roswell then helicopter to Carlsbad, motorcade the dozen miles or so to the caverns.
IF they go by car from Alamogordo then they will pass through the little town of HOPE, NM. We called it (Dispair) since there was no way out when I was a kid. I notice the old hotel downtown is gone, but the old Methodist church where we played baseball in the field to the east, and another old house we lived in is still there.
Then to Artesia and South.
Bet he helicopters in, makes a quick showing, and then gone like the wind.
