Population just over 8000, and high unemployment and high number of vacant homes. i have not been through the area, but supposedly MUSLIM BUSINESSES HAVE BASICALLY SPRUNG UP OVERNIGHT IN PREPARATION OF THE 4500 MUSLIMS TO MOVE IN. No muslim businesses, now entire blocks that are muslim based. there is even talk of having a mosque built and the clarion call for muslim prayer.
what will happen with medical facilites as all medical care is in marinette, WI, just over the river. Here in the UP of Michigan, there are rural communities whom are informed that state monies are going to Menominee to match federal dollars to make forth a concerted effort to have the 4500 Muslims be transitioned into a peaceful community.
people are leaving menominee, because the Muslim population will be a burden on the taxpayers!
