Others say the low, rumbling noise that has stalked residents in the Canadian city of Windsor for years sounds like Star Treks Enterprise gearing up for warp speed.
Very destructive, is how Mike Provost, a 62-year-old retired insurance salesman describes the so-called Windsor Hum. If you think of thunder, and you take that thunder and constantly repeat it for hours and days, weeks, thats all it is.
Residents on the west and south side of Windsor a city of 210,000 people that sits just across the river from Detroit began complaining of a mysterious noise some six years ago, blaming it for rattling windows and trembling wall hangings.

The sound of Detroit imploding into a black hole?
The collective sound of many hummers being given out down at the Windsor Ballet?
Booms - Earthquakes would have been my first guess.
Someone leave a vibrator on?
For large, unexplained booms (sonic boom) sounds in the countryside or edge of towns, I would think someone might be shooting at some tannerite targets....those things are extremely loud and reverberate for miles....

My first thought was Motown giving Windsor a hummer.
I live across the river and this is the first time I’ve ever heard of this complaint.
Nobody I know has ever mentioned it.
Maybe it's a combination of high tension wires, semi-trucks crossing the bridge and just plain traffic noise..........
It's like lying in bed in the early morning hours with your window open and listening to all the birds waking up and the distant traffic noises. The same noises that your brain shuts out when you are going about your daily business.......
So you ARE the culprit!
