I like lemon juice mixed with Tabasco in one of those plastic lemon squeezy things you buy at the grocery store. It hides conveniently in your hand and delivers an aggressive irritant up to 10-feet in a remarkably accurate stream.

Blinds them for about 15 minutes, exquisitely agonizing, and renders them so flailingly incoherent with pain that they can't even describe you to the police.
