Of course, the ultimate irony is that there is really no such thing as equality in human society, or anywhere in nature. We are all different—except for identical twins, triplets, etc. Social engineering may appeal to neurotics who cannot handle the natural inequality of individuals, in their aptitudes, achievement, direction, etc..
