On Friday, May 27, the prospective Republican candidate for president Donald Trump went to the city of Fresno, the capital of Californias farming community, and declared: there is no drought!
This seemingly brash statement was met with ridicule and scorn across the blogosphere -- how could anyone make such a so-called stupid statement when everyone knows that California has experienced a historically high dry spell since 2013? But was Trump right? Arguably yes. Heres why.
Historically, California has a mega Wet Year once about every ten years with mini Wet Years in between. So four out of five years, or as much as eight out of every ten years, are Dry Years where reservoirs arent filling up enough and groundwater basins arent being recharged enough, except by the runoff from farmers fields and by recycling in urban areas. The mega Wet Years are those when California refills its reservoirs and groundwater basins to be drawn down over the next five or ten years depending on the rainfall and snowfall cycle. It is normal for reservoir levels to be dropping and for groundwater basins to be overdrafted until they are replenished by a deluge and floods.

Told ya.
Truckee, Yuba, Bear, American rivers. Some of the prettiest scenery on the planet.
Trump, telling the truth to Californians.
From the article...
Trump is vindicated. California allows one third of its system water to escape to the ocean to protect fish.
Everyone in California knows this. The rest of the country only knows what the media tell them.
LOL! They can’t handle the truth.
As to the author's contention that what we have experienced since 2012 is normal...well, that's just plain BS.
I was born and raised in this Valley and I can tell you it's not normal. And, the historical data does not support that contention.
Well, I did read it on the internet so it must be true. So, how dry is the Klamath Falls area these days? The latest can be found here.

For decades the Feds have created a drought in the Central Valley. Too bad DiFi and Babs couldn’t bring themselves to correct the situation
Delta smelt pos fish
CA hasn’t built a new reservoir since 1975. Just think what the population has done since then.
That was a good link.
This video from the link was especially informative. It made me remember Sec of Interior Babbitt who wanted to remove every dam in America. The Interior Dept
continues to remove dams to this day and as in this video they skew and lie about the science to accomplish their goals.
Yeah, there’s a lot on the site and it takes some navigating to find specifics. I remember the “Bucket Brigade” when the whole thing started. Sad the way the feds screwed people over an insignificant fish. Maybe it’s “time” was up in the overall scheme of things.
In 2009, on a drive from SF to LA, we noticed many small yellow signs proclaiming ‘Congress Created Drought’ in the Central Valley. Are they still there? Are the farmers still not getting water? Our friends in SoCal, where we used to live, have been so successful in lowering their water usage that the water company is raising rates to survive. In what state does this make sense? Oh right, only in Socialist/Communist California.
Well, somebody must be stealing it before it get to Hoover dam. Lake Mead is LOW. On the other hand, it appears that Lake Tahoe is at or slightly above it’s natural rim. Well, natural for the time being.

Construction of the three dams was completed in 1999
Here's one of the things that's stealing it:
Mature trees along riverbanks are said to consume about 200 gallons per day (per tree). There is a huge project in progress to try to control it. But one of the people at the local insectary (where they breed critters for bio-control) told me that environmentalists are trying to stop the tamarisk removal because they found a bird nesting in it. (This is also mentioned in the article cited.)
No doubt they’ll find some “fabulous” form of critter to stop the eradication of these thirsty rascals. Envirowackos, what don’t they know?
Just think what the population has done since then?
Added ~ 11 million more illegal aliens to it’s population. California’s water supply system was built for a native level of population. Now a high percentage of Mexico and Central America lives in the LA basin which is essentially a desert......
