Read my post. What does it say about zoning? That’s a rhetorical question but I’ll answer it anyway. “nothing” that’s what it says about zoning. The topic is the size of homes being built not a city council meeting about zoning.

Since you seem to be morphing Libertarian you should be agains’t all zoning laws. I guess you haven’t quite morphed yet. :-)

If I read you correctly you were saying people have a right to build what they want. if I mistook your meaning I apologize. Other wise people collectively join and agree to rules about what they can build near other people. The collective is called a city or county. The rules are put into something cities call zoning. How much of a lot you can iild on is zoning. If you have 1 acre, you cannot build on 1 acre because if all the houses did the neighborhood would be wall to wall houses. Normal people don’t like that. So they set a ZONING rule which says you can built up 60% of your lot or whatever.

Before someone who want to build a large home on a lot, they should check the city ZONING rules to see how much of the lot can be built up. But I disagree with your comment. When you joined the collective or moved into the city you gave up the right to built whatever the hell you want to build.
