Hey Apatow, Let’s remake a Tyler Perry movie with an all-white cast and see if there’s any uproar.
The bottom line is that you don’t remake an iconic film and make major changes. It invades everybody’s normalcy bias.
Even if they make NO changes (except the cast, and filming the movie in color,) it's crazy. For example, when someone green-lighted the remake of "Psycho," they decided it was a "perfect" movie, so they didn't want to change any of the dialog, nor even the cinematography. They just changed the cast and filmed it in color. Hopefully the people in charge of the movie, especially the casting director - Vince Vaughn and Anne Heche, for goodness sake - will never work in movies again!
