A local man is free on bond after his arrest Friday on charges he pulled out a chainsaw and shouted racial slurs during a road rage incident in Farmington on May 6.
Michael Salafia, 30, of 64 Whitewood Drive, allegedly got out of his car with a chainsaw while at a red light and approached another driver, Farmington police said. As Salafia was advancing on the other driver, who was a black male, Salafia started the chainsaw and began yelling racial slurs, reports said.
The other pulled out a gun, which he was carrying legally, police said, to stop Salafia from getting closer. Salafia left but not before accidentally cutting himself with the chainsaw which splattered blood on the other man's car....

That’s probably it. I ruined several weed eaters and leaf blowers before I learned that they really only work using no-alcohol gas, which, it turns out, is pretty easy to find where I live.
25 feet. Must be for a 12 foot bar, BIG trees.
Hahahah!
I carry mine in an inside-the-waistband holster. You have to be extra careful not to start it too soon.
I’ve got the same problem.

I gave up on having to crank those SOBs by buying an electric. Serves me well on the small jobs I use it for and I’ve got a couple hundred feet of heavy duty extension cords.
I have only one question, how the he!! did a black man get a legal carry in CT.?
Not a bad name, but Arabic for "idiot" would be even better.
100 Feet. Specialty item available only to Paul Bunyan.
Apparently he’s started up the chainsaw. He could have cut off his own head — or, worse, injured himself in a vital organ.
I wonder if he left enough to do drug/alcohol tests -- the first explanation for this behavior that comes to mind is that he was drunk or high.
LOL. I LIKE the way you think.
I don’t want to defame Husqvarna so I guess I’ll fess up and say that I bought it 30 years ago from the Rent All who had bought it used from someone else.
It started great until just a few years ago and I do lay the blame for that on alcohol-laden gasoline.
Sounds like I need to go and try that.
Electrics are nice, very quiet in comparison and no exhaust.
Used to use one when I built houses as a carpenter.

Yep. Don’t need a sharp chain for that to happen. Guess the dude’s been watching way too many slasher movies.
Three years ago I paid the repair shop about $25 bucks for a tuneup and the diagnosis of water in the gas line due to alcohol and sitting unused. Last two years I pull the gas line, get a little taste of petrol backwash and I’m ready to go in 10 minutes ... and so is the chainsaw. ;-)
A dull chain will cut flesh just as easily as a sharp one will. I doubt anyone could tell the difference.
Good thing, since this guy ain't the sharpest chain on the saw.
Hmmm... my two Husky’s are worlds more reliable than my two Stihls; start right up with one or two pulls year after year, even in the dead of winter when sitting cold in the truck.
I need to chain the gas. Probably the plug also. Maybe that'll change it.
I opt for the bigger gun, like a 50
