President Obama visited Elkhart, Indiana on Wednesday and during a town hall meeting blamed "right-wing radio" for distorting his economic record and for making "people think big government is the problem."
"I hope you don't mind me being blunt about this," the president said, "but I've been listening to this stuff for a while now and I'm concerned when I watch the direction of our politics."
When Obama visited Elkhart seven years ago, the unemployment rate was near 20%. Now, he boasts that the rate has dropped to around 4% in the city and 5% across the state.
The president seems to be on a legacy tour, promoting his tenure in the last remaining months he has at the White House. So, every opportunity must be used to blame the vast right-wing conspiracy, especially Fox News and talk radio:
"I mean, we have been hearing this story for decades: tales about welfare queens, talking about takers, talking about the '47 percent'. It's the story that is broadcast every day on some cable news stations, on right-wing radio. It's pumped into cars and bars and VFW halls all across America, and right here in Elkhart. And if you're hearing that story all the time, you start believing it.
"It's no wonder people think big government is the problem."
We don't need talk radio to tell us big government is the problem, Mr. President. Our Founding Fathers warned of it long ago.

He’s had 8 years to try and convince us that Big Government is not the problem. He has utterly failed.
What a kook.
The narcissist jihadi just can't STAND the fact that he's not universally beloved, so he has to listen in to see what people are saying about him. Good. Hope it's caused him considerably angst. Maybe he reads FR as well.
I only wish such is true but if you haven't noticed the GOPe is in charge of Congress and you should know the "e" stands for "everything" as in "everything that Obama wants we will give him"...
Liberals are liars in the most existential meaning of that concept. They lie to themselves and they prefer their own lies to the truth. This is the core evil in socialism, which is where the lies become institutionalized at the highest level.
But we are not strangers to this. We have 100 million dead to prove that socialism is evil and cannot function.
Socialism by its very nature, at its heart and core, is a system of lies. That society will have more equality is a lie, That the economy will grow faster and be give the average worker more prosperity is a lie. That government will be competent, efficient, evenhanded and careful to obey all of its laws and regulations is a lie. In order for the socialist society to function, it must create and support a myriad of overlapping lies. But it is a truth about human nature that government imposes a type of morality on its citizens. So, when government is built on lies, telling lies and believing lies permeates society. Thus, one of the hidden costs of socialism is how corrosive it is to personal character and morality.
This is not my own theory, but comes from someone who lived it. Václav Havel was a playwright, author, the first president of the Czech Republic (19932003) after the CzechSlovak split.
He wrote a famous essay, The Power of the Powerless (the social and spiritual consequences of socialism)
“The principle involved here is that the center of power is identical with the center of truth.” Havel warns that socialist regimes create and enforce their own truth to maintain power. As time goes on, this truth diverges from factual truth and it increasingly forces those who support and depend upon the power of the regime to corrupt themselves to sustain the artificial truth.
In the end, people not only lie to each other, but they start to lie to themselves.

We understand. Let us be clear with you, Mr. Obama, we do NOT want your brand of politics!
The concerning direction of our politics is a direct result of the Democrats’ decision to embrace Saul Alinsky and his win-at-all-cost tactics in the 1970’s.
Republicans are just finally learning how to play by those rules.
They’re gonna need some type of TSA for the radio!
Actually, he doubled the size of the government problem, even as he doubled the deficit. He’s a gifted doubler!
“The permanent lie becomes the only safe form of existence, in the same way as betrayal. Every wag of the tongue can be overheard by someone, every facial expression observed by someone. Therefore every word, if it does not have to be a direct lie, is nonetheless obliged not to contradict the general, common lie. There exists a collection of ready-made phrases, of labels, a selection of ready-made lies.

Has this a-hole cut any other gub mint anything besides defense?

BWAAAHAHAHAHAHA.......
So says the stuttering fool.
Anyone possessing a memory can extrapolate from, say, twenty years ago and see where we are now. The central socialist government is always the culprit.
1936’s dollar is worth 5 cents today.
Proving, yet again, that the dick in the White House simply doesn’t care what Americans are thinking.
Yeah, it couldn’t be the repeated, well-documented failures of Big Government, and the slow slide to tyranny that comes with them.
Note the difference between this President's judgment of "the People" and that of the genius Author of our Declaration of Independence and early President:
"I am not among those who fear the people. They...are our dependence for continued freedom. And to preserve their independence, we must not let our rulers load us with perpetual debt. We must make our election between economy and liberty, or profusion and servitude. If we run into such debts, as that we must be taxed in our meat and in our drink, in our necessaries and our comforts, in our labors and our amusements, for our callings and our creeds...our people...must come to labor sixteen hours in the twenty-four, give the earnings of fifteen of these to the government for their debts and daily expenses; and the sixteenth being insufficient to afford us bread, we must live, as they (the British) now do, on oatmeal and potatoes; have no time to think, no means of calling the mismanagers to account; but be glad to obtain subsistence by hiring ourselves to rivet their chains on the necks of our fellow-sufferers....This example reads to us the salutary lesson that private fortunes are destroyed by public, as well as by private extravagance. And this is the tendency of all human governments. A departure from the principle in one instance, becomes a precedent for a second; that second for a third; and so on, till the bulk of society is reduced to be mere automatons of misery, to have no sensibilities left but for sinning and suffering. Then begins, indeed, the 'bellum omnium in omnia,' which some philosophers...have mistaken for the natural, instead of the abusive, state of man. And the fore-horse of this frightful team is public debt. Taxation follows that, and in its train wretchedness and oppression." - Thomas Jefferson
“It’s no wonder people think big government is the problem.”
Big Freudian slip, there.
In Obama’s mind:
Big government is good.
And...
Everyone in the government class is doing great economically right now, therefore everyone is doing great economically.
