The PGA Tour has been going to Doral, Florida, for 55 straight years. From 1962 until 2006, it visited for the Doral Open, and then in 2007, it began hosting the WGC-Cadillac Championship, which continued until this past year. Fifty-five straight years of PGA Tour golf in Doral.
Well, we might have seen professional golf there for the last time -- at least in the immediate future -- when Adam Scott defeated Rory McIlroy and others at Trump National in March. That's because the PGA Tour has decided to pull one of its marquee events out of the course near Miami and move it to Mexico City for a WGC event in 2017.

I wonder if Trump would consider replacing the PGA event with a “Patriots’ Golf Open” — “open” to any veteran with a golf handicap below 10 who qualifies.
I’d bet most American golfers would rather watch the PGO tournament than watch a bunch of foreign golf “stars” respond to shouts of “Ole! with every stroke they take...

PGA has seen decreasing revenues since Tiger Woods has not been able to compete. Now, it will only get worse.
The PGA claims it is moving it because they need a sponsor.
It’s easier to get a sponsor in Mexico? Who? A drug lord? Mexico City is a hellhole. It’s not Cancun. It’s Can-die. Hot as Hell and eat up with crime.
