“Excellent observations on our current troubles. When you divorce culture, heritage & family from the marketplace people become interchangeable parts...”

That attitude is one that Limbaugh has embraced for years. His conservatism has always been skewed towards the monetary more than the cultural. It’s one reason that for more than a decade he couldn’t be bothered to lift a finger to fight the immigration wars.

Rush has always been a personal mess. He has indeed stayed away from the immigration issue over the years.

I have not listened to Rush but very rarely, the last few years. I had the distinct impression that he compromised principle to not have to attack Bush II--a terrible mistake. Bush II totally ignored the purpose of the Constitution--in many areas--but especially as to lines of dissent--the avowed, clearly stated, purpose as to the Founders' "posterity." You cannot claim to be a Conservative Constitutionalist and embrace the idiocy that America is all about an abstract ideology.

Rush showed understanding of ethnic realities when Clinton was President. He seemed to stick his head in the sand when Bush II continued the same policies of betrayal.
